Tell us a bit about your business. What makes you different?
We’re a Martial Arts Academy in Aberdeen, Scotland, offering five main adult programs. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, and Filipino Martial Arts — plus three juniors programs: BJJ, MMA, and Thai Boxing.
Our head instructors are certified under Dan Inosanto in JKD and FMA. Dan was Bruce Lee’s training partner in developing JKD, so we’re proud to be direct students under him. We’re also directly certified in BJJ under the Gracie name. That lineage and authenticity is what makes our academy stand out.
What software did you use before switching to Clubworx?
We previously used Martialytics. While the support team was excellent, the software itself wasn’t able to meet the needs of our gym.
What made you start looking for new member management software?
The big driver was scheduling. I needed software where I could upload my timetable and have members book into classes directly. Clubworx offered this, and over time their Class Kiosk has developed into an exceptionally good fit for our gym. Combined with Wallet, it gives our reception team a fast and seamless way to check in students and process payments.

Clubworx delivers on nearly all of these requirements. Occasionally it can feel a bit slow, but that’s more likely down to our broadband connection than the system itself.
What’s your favourite Clubworx feature?
Kiosk Mode — it’s simple, fast, and keeps our front desk running smoothly.
How has Clubworx made your life easier?
We can now track memberships and class attendance, communicate easily with our students, and streamline front-of-house operations. I’m especially excited about the upcoming updates around family payments and Kiosk speed improvements, plus better calendar embedding with our WordPress site.
Another big win has been the support team. It genuinely felt like they were customising the application around our needs. They respond quickly, communicate clearly, and keep me updated on new features. It’s first-class, gold-standard service — and as someone who works in the IT industry, I know how rare that is.
