Please tell us a bit about your business. What makes you different?
Insight Jiu Jitsu Academy is a martial arts school built around improving skill, confidence, and personal growth. We opened about a year and a half ago and have been steadily growing our student base. What makes us different is our approach to structure and progression and how much we value creating an environment where people stick around. It isn’t just about acquiring students. It’s about helping them improve and keeping them engaged along the way.
Where are you located?
We’re based in Australia. Classes run from our facility here which has become a bit of a home base for our community.
Have you used other software before?
Yes, I had experience using Clubworx as a student long before opening the academy. I looked at other systems when I decided to open the gym, but Clubworx stood out as the obvious pick.
What made you look for new member management software?
When we opened the academy, I needed a system that would handle the unglamorous admin that takes you away from coaching. Things like booking, check-ins, payments, waivers, communications, and reporting. Most gyms underestimate the reporting side until they start to scale. Once you have a bigger student base, that structure becomes non-negotiable.

How do Clubworx meet these?
Clubworx ticked the boxes from day one. The student app made sense instantly, check-ins worked without training anyone, and payments ran in the background. On the back end, there’s enough flexibility to run sequences, tweak waivers, adjust plans, and build proper reports without having to bolt together different tools. Support has also been rock solid without being intrusive.
What is your favourite Clubworx feature?
Reporting and communications. The reporting granularity has become a weekly task for us and it gives us our to-do list for retention and engagement. On the communications side, being able to run SMS and email workflows through one system saves time and keeps members active.
How has using Clubworx made your life easier?
Clubworx handles the system so I can coach. Students know how to book, check in, and manage payments with zero handholding. Communications are automated, reporting gives us direction, and support is there when needed. It helps with growth and retention, not just sign-ups. It keeps us ahead of the game.
